Review: Henrietta the Dragon Slayer

Review: Henrietta the Dragon Slayer

Author: Beth Barany

Publisher: Firewolf Books

Rating: 4/5
Summary:

Henrietta, the legendary Dragon Slayer of the Kingdom of Bleuve, can’t stomach the thought of one more kill. Yet, in order to save her dying mentor, she must go on one last quest. But will the quest for the healing stone be derailed by misfit companions, seasickness, and an egomaniacal king? And will she be able cut past her conscience and kill the dragon?

When Beth asked me to review her book I was so excited! The book is a beautiful story about friendship,  a heroine, and a quest to kill a dragon. Who wouldn't be excited? The entire concept sounded interesting and I was not at all disappointed.

The character of Henrietta was quite different from all other characters I have read about. She was very tough and stubborn. Rarely, if ever, did she show her soft side. I found myself actually liking her a lot. She was a very strong leader and hero. Usually, the main character in books I read is weak and kind of whiny. Henrietta on the other hand, was a nice change.

As for the plot, it was good but I felt as if it were lacking a bit. I was really hoping to see at least some fragments of a love story, but unfortunately there were none. Only towards the end of the book could I start to see some love emotions developing. There also wasn't a whole lot about dragon slaying or dragon slayers. Thankfully, it didn't take away from the story. The ending was perfect and wrapped up the story nicely!

Beth's writing style was extraordinary! I really felt as if I were following Henrietta and her crew on their journey, due to the detail that Beth captured. I hope to read more of her books in the future!

Overall, this book was great and I highly suggest it to those who like adventure and fantasy. It is hard to capture the book in this review, so I recommend you reading it yourself when the Kindle Edition comes out on February 28th! Also, an interview with Beth will be posted here soon. To buy the book, click here.

Feuding Friday (4): Edward or Jacob?

Happy Friday!

Feuding Friday is a weekly event here at Brittany's Fantasy where readers chose their favorite of two characters in a book. If you would like to use Feuding Friday on your blog, just leave a comment please! This week's feud is between Jacob and Edward from Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

I know most of you are thinking "Ew! Twilight!!!" but I actually like the books a lot. I also think some people's opinions changed because of the movies, which had bad casting and did not live up to the books at all. For this reason, I want everyone to keep Jacob and Edward in mind, NOT Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson.

Waiting Wednesday (3)

"Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine to spotlight spectacular upcoming releases!

This week I am waiting on City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments #4) by Cassandra Clare. I just finished City of Glass (Check out my review here) and it left me wanting the next book ever so much!

Expected Release Date: April 5th 2011

Summary (Goodreads):
City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4)
City of Fallen Angels takes place two months after the events of City of Glass. In it, a mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary’s plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace.
As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever. Meanwhile, internecine warfare among vampires is tearing the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels

Review: City of Glass (Mortal Instruments #3)

Review: City of Glass (Mortal Instruments #3)
Author: Cassandra Clare
Publisher: McElderry Books
Pages: 560
Rating: 5/5
Summary:

To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters—never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her new found powers to help save the Glass City—whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the third installment of bestselling series the Mortal Instruments.

I read the second book in this series, City of Ashes, months ago and loved it! I was really excited to pick up this book, but for some reason i never got around to it. Because of that, my Mortal Instruments knowledge was a little fuzzy. Thankfully Cassandra pulled me right back in to the wonderful book.

The beginning was a little slow, but that could be due to the fact that I was trying to catch up on what was happening. Either way, the story got more intense and soon I couldn't put this book down and was taking it everywhere!

The concept of Shadowhunters is a magnificent one! I have never read a book before this series about them and find what they can do quite interesting. There are also downworlders in this book, all of which I have previously read about except for lycanthropes. The variety of creatures adds nicely to the story.

City of Glass mainly focuses on Valentine and his evil plan, as well as the many interesting relationships the book contains. In addition,so much is revealed regarding the story of Jace's, and Clary's childhood that will leave the readers shocked. If you were left hanging after finishing City of Ashes, you will not be disappointed after reading this book.

I didn't notice too much of a change in Clary, but i noticed a major change in Simon and Jace! Simon goes through so much in this book and he becomes a much stronger, less nerdy character altogether. After reading City of Ashes, I didn't quite know where his relationship stood with Clary. But, towards the end of City of Glass, their relationship was clear as well as Jace and Clary's.

I could go on and on about this book but unfortunately, I can't give too much away! Old characters pass, new ones are introduced, old relationships fade, and new ones evolve. If you loved the first two books in the series, you will love this one as well. Cassandra is a brilliant author and I can't wait to read more of her books including City of Fallen Angels which is to be released soon enough!

What do you think of the series?

Review: Fallout by Ellen Hopkins

Review: Fallout (Crank #3)

Author: Ellen Hopkins

Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry

Pages: 672

Rating: 4/5

Summary:

Hunter, Autumn, and Summer—three of Kristina Snow’s five children—live in different homes, with different guardians and different last names. They share only a predisposition for addiction and a host of troubled feelings toward the mother who barely knows them, a mother who has been riding with the monster, crank, for twenty years.

Hunter is nineteen, angry, getting by in college with a job at a radio station, a girlfriend he loves in the only way he knows how, and the occasional party. Autumn lives with her single aunt and alcoholic grandfather. When her aunt gets married, and the only family she’s ever known crumbles, Autumn’s compulsive habits lead her to drink. Summer doesn’t know about Hunter, Autumn, or their two youngest brothers, Donald and David. To her, family is only abuse at the hands of her father’s girlfriends and a slew of foster parents. As each searches for real love and true family, they find themselves pulled toward the one person who links them together—Kristina, Bree, mother, addict. But it is in each other, and in themselves, that they find the trust, the courage, the hope to break the cycle.

I started reading Ellen Hopkins books when I was in 7th grade (2009) and have been in love with them ever since. I have read every one of her books and they taught me so much about the life of people who do drugs and how their choices negatively effect families. They were all a real eye opener, especially the Crank series.

The series is based on Ellen's daughter who was in a similar situation as Kristina in Crank. This adds a passion and depth to the story which is my favorite part about the books. Also, the books are written in a poetic format. Occasionally the words actually form pictures on the page which is beyond awesome!

I guess I was expecting a tad too much from this book because I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Don't get me wrong, it was a fantastic book and a nice ending to the series, but there were a few things I didn't particularly care for.

For example, I desperately wanted to continue reading about Kristina's crazy life, but unfortunately I didn't get to. Instead, Fallout was told in 3 different point of views, all Kristina's children. Every time the book switched POVs I would have to think back to what happened previously in the book. It was a little hard to keep up with at times and terribly confusing in the beginning.

On the bright side, it was indeed interesting to learn how Kristina and her drug addictions effected her children, even if she never saw them. Their lives were so terribly different from mine that every time I picked up the book, it dragged me into a completely different world. A world of drugs, sex, lies, innocence, struggles and everything in between. In addition, the book answered any hanging questions previously in the series.

Overall, the plot and Ellen's writing style was amazing as always. Fallout was a great conclusion to the series with an ending so great and powerful, I read it over and over again.  If you haven't read any Hopkins yet, I strongly suggest you do so. You will not be disappointed!

Have you read any Ellen Hopkins books? What did you think of them?

Feuding Friday: Damon or Stefan?

Happy Friday!

Feuding Friday is a weekly event here at Brittany's Fantasy where readers chose their favorite of two characters in a book. This week's "Feud" is between Damon and Stefan Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries series and TV show by L.J. Smith.

The reason I chose these two this week, is because I have been thinking about the L.J. Smith news. As most of you already know, L.J. has been fired by Harper Collins and Alloy Entertainment  from writing the Vampire Diaries books because she wanted the books to go in a different direction then them.

Yes she got fired from writing her own books. This is due to the fact that the series is owned by Alloy; They simply gave her an outline of the story they wanted and told her to write it! The next book will not be written by her although it will still say L.J.'s name on the cover. We can only hope the new author is almost as magnificent as L.J.

Now, as much as I would love to talk about my favorite author all day, I must ask: who are you in love with? The dark, sexy Damon or the caring, loving Stefan? I am and forever will be Team Stefan!

Miley Cyrus?

After surfing the Internet a while back, I came across reports that movies are going to be made on the books Wake by Lisa Mann and Wings by Aprilynne Pike. I have read and liked both of these books and was glad when I heard about the movies. It's always fun to see books I've read on the "big screen."

Unfortunately, there were also reports about Miley Cyrus playing both of the lead roles in the movie. Lisa confirmed on her Blog that Miley was considering the lead role of Janie. "I have no control over casting or anything else....Miley is awesome. Anybody who can accomplish more by the age of 17 than I can do by the age of 42 is top notch in my book. I think every teen has tremendous potential to shine, don't you?" Said Lisa.

As for Wings, I do not know if the Miley rumors have been confirmed, but the Wings Fan Site states, "Wings was bought by Disney some time in early June 2009. It was then announced that it would be turned into a Disney movie at the start of July 2009....Miley Cyrus was given the lead role as Laurel and according to the casting call, it will be a ‘film franchise’ vehicle for Miley Cyrus. Some fans have expressed concern about the casting of Cyrus, but Aprilynne pike has stood firmly behind the casting decision."

I do not hate or dislike Cyrus but I think they could have found someone more fitting of the lead roles. When I read the books, I did not picture the lead characters looking anything like Miley. I also don't think her personality is the best choice for this kind of role. Not only that, but the fact that Miley is extremely famous and well known might cause way too much attention to the movie from an audience who is only interested in Miley. On the other hand, some readers might not see the movie because of Miley.

What do you think about Miley playing these rolls? Please leave a comment :)

Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Today, besides all the love, is the release of the 7th book in the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson! I have not read this series yet but I have heard many wonderful things and am thinking about starting it soon. Sometimes, I feel as if everyoe around me has read or is reading these books... Here is the summary for Angel:

In the seventh book in the bestselling series, evil scientists are still trying to convince Max that she needs to save the world, this time by providing the genetic link in speeding up the pace of evolution. Worse, they're trying to convince her that her perfect mate is Dylan, the newest addition to the flock. The problem is that, despite herself, Max is starting to believe it.

Fang travels the country collecting his own gang of evolved humans, but the two separate flocks must unite to defeat a frightening doomsday cult whose motto is Save the Planet: Kill the Humans. And this time, the true heroine, for once, might just be little Angel.

Review: The Iron Queen

Yes, I have decided on posting reviews. I am certainly not restricting this blog to only reviews, I will just post a few here and there when I have finished a book. My weekly memes, writing, exc.. will continue!

Review: The Iron Queen (#3 of The Iron Fey series)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 368
Rating: 5/5
Summary:

My name is Meghan Chase. I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it. This time, there will be no turning back.

After reading this book, I was left excited, amazed, and wanting MORE! There was never a point in the book- or the series for that matter- that was dull or boring. If I didn't have any distractions, I could read this book from start to finish without putting it down.

I really noticed a dramatic change in Meghan, Ash, and Puck in the Iron Queen that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Meghan is growing stronger, not just physically but mentally as well. Ash on the other hand seemed softer in this book. His passion and love for Meghan throughout this book was remarkable! It was a huge change from his coldness towards her in the previous book. As for Puck, his relationship with Meghan and Ash turned quite interesting but of course, I won't spoil it...

The plot of this story is too amazing and well thought out for words. Everything fell perfectly into place without being too predictable. There were many twists and turns that will keep a reader interested until the very last page.

The ending of this book was perfect! It wasn't too bad of a Cliff- hanger, but it still left me desperate for the release of the next book. It wrapped up the book nicely, while leaving tons of room for our minds to wonder what Julie has in store for us in The Iron Knight.

I highly recommend this series to everyone. It is the absolute perfect mix of romance, action, suspense, and magic. I will continue to read the 4th book as soon as it hits stores as well as anything else the brilliant mind of Julie Kagawa will publish.

More of my Writing

This is the 1st chapter of a book I am writing just for fun. To read the prolouge, click here.

Clare County MI, Present Day-

Clare High School was relatively small and Luna Kardon knew a majority of the people who went there. Most teachers and students were nice, but everyone had known each other since kindergarten. Sometimes Luna wished she went to a larger school with more people.

Currently, she was a sophomore and sitting in science class listening to Mr. Willow’s 10 minute lecture to go with their 2 minute experiment. Unfortunately, Mr. Willow was a boring teacher which made the class boring. Otherwise, science was Luna’s favorite subject.

While attempting to give her attention to the teacher, Luna felt something lightly brush her arm. It was her good friend and lab partner Jacqueline trying to pass her a note. Luna unfolded the crinkled note quietly so nobody could hear the paper crunching. Inside, toward the top of the paper, was a doodle of a turtle with a cartoon bubble over his head.

In the bubble Jacqueline’s neat handwriting read, “Bryan’s haircut looks amazing! I wish he was single… So, have you decided what you are going to wear for the dance? The purple dress you have would be perfect!”

The End-Of-The-School-Year Dance was all anyone could talk about. Well that and the very attractive Bryan Hefter. He was the quarter back for the school football team and all the girls loved him, but none of them knew him well. He had a small group of friends which mostly consisted of football players and their girlfriends. Luna thought he was a little stuck up, but like other girls she couldn’t resist his looks.

Luna was going to the dance but she wasn’t nearly as excited as everyone else seemed to be. It wasn’t that nobody had asked her, a lot of guys had. She was fairly pretty with her brown hair and green eyes, but she wasn’t a very good dancer.

Luna attempted to sketch a dolphin on the note, but it turned out lopsided due to her lack of artistic talent. She scribbled a thinking bubble over its head and wrote, “It looks good  I think I’m going to wear that dress, but I need to buy some shoes for it.” She slid the paper across the table back to Jacqueline.

“Ladies, please get started on your experiment,” Mr. Willow said impatiently.

“Sorry,” Luna murmured as he walked by their lab station.

Jacqueline pulled the Bunsen burner out of the lower cupboard while Luna grabbed a beaker from the top shelf. As she was pouring water into the beaker she got a glimpse of Bryan doing the same thing at the lab station across from theirs. He caught her eye and flashed her one of his famous dazzling smiles. Unfortunately Bryan’s lab partner and girlfriend, Sarah also caught her eye and scowled at Luna.

“What does he see in her?” Jacqueline seemed genuinely puzzled.

Luna quickly looked away from Sarah’s evil stare. “I don’t know what he sees in her, but there sure is a lot to see on the outside of her.” Sarah had a perfect body and made sure to show it off with outfits that almost barely cover her body. Most girls at Clare envied her. Right now, Luna was definitely one of them.

“Yes that’s true,” Jacqueline said turning her head back toward their experiment. “I just wish Bryan had a little more depth than that.”

For the next fifteen minutes of class Luna made sure to not look at Bryan or Sarah again. Instead, she focused on boiling water with her Bunsen burner. When the final bell rang she said a quick goodbye to Jacqueline and hurried to her locker before Sarah could talk to her.

The rest of the school day flew by fairly fast. During lunch, Luna made plans with her friend Nicole to go shopping the next day for dresses and shoes. Her following classes were uneventful and things were slowing down now that the school year is coming to an end.

At the end of the day she met Pete in the parking lot and hopped into his old beat-up truck that used to be Dad’s. Pete waved goodbye to his girlfriend Rachel before getting in the car.

“Hey,” Pete said as Luna shut the passenger door.

“Hey, Rachel isn’t coming home with us today?”

“No, her mom wants her to go home and study” Pete sounded disappointed.

“Oh.” Luna didn’t mind Rachel. She was pretty and polite.

Pete started up the engine and pulled out of the parking lot. “So are you going to the dance this year?” He asked suddenly cheerful.

“Yeah, I think so. All of my friends are going and maybe it will be fun.” Luna didn’t go to the dance last year but from all the stories she heard she could tell it was going to be interesting. “Are you going?”

“Of course!” Pete exclaimed. “I already have my suit picked out and Rachel has been talking about it for weeks.”

Luna wasn’t surprised that Pete wanted to go to the dance. Pete loved having fun and it would be his last school dance considering he was a senior.

Pete snuck a sideways glance at her. “So, who are you going with?”

“Michael Campton.”

Pete thought for a minute. “I don’t think I’ve heard of him. What’s he like?”

“Well, he plays football, he’s in my grade, and he’s tall and blonde....” She ran out of things to say about Michael. She didn’t know him too well.

Pete chuckled. “Sounds like a keeper!”

Luna softly punched him in the arm and turned up the music. Pete rolled down the windows and his auburn hair whipped around his head.

Luna loved Pete. He was everything she could ask for in a brother. He was fun but not reckless and cared for Luna without being overprotective. Pete loved Mom too. He started helping her out a lot since Dad died.

He is one of the smartest people Luna knows, and loved how he seemed to know everything. She always thought he got it from her dad and Luna was going to miss him when he went off to college this year.

After singing along to the radio for a few minutes they pulled up to their small two-story house. Luna jumped out of the car but Pete stayed in and kept the car running.

“Where are you going?” asked Luna

“I’m working overtime this week. Tell Mom that I’ll be back around 9.”

“Okay.” Pete was a waiter at an Italian restaurant. It wasn’t his favorite job, but he wasn’t one to complain. And he loved the extra money.

She closed the front door and hung her jacket up on the wooden coat hook. It was early May and still a little chilly outside. She rounded the corner into the kitchen and found her mom putting dinner in the oven.

“Luna! How was school?”

“Good. What are you making?”

“Spinach lasagna. I found a recipe that your grandma used to make.” Mom worked at an animal hospital and usually wasn’t home during the week except for Wednesdays, her day off. Mom was always a very cheerful person. She was a vegetarian and loved animals. Her tall, thin figure and long brown hair made her look pretty and youthful.

“Yum! I’ll be in my room until its ready. I have a lot of homework tonight.”

“Okay Honey. Do you know where your brother is?”

“Yeah, he has to work tonight. He’ll be back around 9”

“Oh he’s going to miss dinner! Well, he will have to eat some when he gets home.” Luna knew Mom was upset. It could get lonely in the house without Pete.

“Maybe after I finish my homework we could go on a hike.”

Her mom loved going on hikes and anything else that had to do with nature. Luna found hikes pointless but she would go on them just to spend time with Mom.

Luna left the kitchen and carried her backpack up the stairs to her room. Pete’s room was directly across from hers and beside the bathroom; their rooms were the only two on the second floor. She liked it that way.

Her room was small and the walls were a light purple. It had white soft carpeting and held her twin bed, closet, desk, and computer. They never had a lot of money and now that Dad was gone they had a tight budget. Luna didn’t mind, she liked her room and never felt crowded. She opened her backpack and began working on her Geometry.

That night after dinner and the long hike with her mom, Luna finished her homework and went straight to bed. She changed into some comfortable clothes and snuggled with her plush blanket.

She thought about science class that day. All she had done was look at Bryan and Sarah got pissed off. She couldn’t imagine what would happen if Sarah caught them talking. Maybe it was the smile he gave Luna that made Sarah mad. He had such a beautiful smile.

Luna drifted to sleep thinking about him. Bryan was in science class lighting his Bunsen burner and wearing his stunning smile. Sarah did not exist in Luna’s dream. Just Bryan and Luna. And Bryans Bunsen burner. Bryan’s Bunsen burner…

Tell me what you think!

Wicked

A few months ago, I won the book Wicked by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie. I finished it just before starting Iron Daughter and I'm still not sure what I think of it. It took me at least a month to read it which is longer than I have ever taken to finish a book. I wish I could say it was due to my busy schedule, but I'm not so sure. It was terribly confusing at the beginning and I didn't get interested until towards the end. I'm hesitant about reading the next book in the series... There are many other books I would rather read before it. Has anyone else read this series? What did you guys think of it?

Also, Thanks to Alex from Electrifying Reviews for my much needed blog editing.

Favorite Books?

Evening good people!

What would you do If someone asked you: What is your favorite book? Most of us would say "I can't pick one! I love so many!" Or something along those lines. For me, my answer is The Host. Plain and Simple. But like everyone, I love more than just one book! Here are some of my favorites

Have you guys read any of these books? What are your favorite books? Leave a comment! :)

Amazing Book!

Hola friends!

Today, I finished the magnificent novel The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa. It took me a while to read this book but not at all because it was boring! That was mostly due to my busy-ness. Anyway, If you haven't started the Iron Fey series, you must go do that! NOW! The first book was good, but this book had so many twist and turns in the plot that kept me addicted! I am looking forward to starting The Iron Queen on Monday.

Have you guys read this book? What do you think of it?

Debut Authors of 2011

Good evening fellow readers!
As you know, there are TONS of new and talented authors debuting this year! Here are just a few...

Is there a new book coming out that you are just DYING to read? Well.. I hope you aren't actually dying, but you know what I mean :)

Feuding Friday: Ash or Puck?

Happy Friday!
Every Friday I will be posting about a "feud" between two characters in a book. All you guys have to do is comment below and fight for your favorite character! This week I am reading Iron Daughter and Iron Queen, hence the reason the first feud will be between Ash and Puck (Robin Goodfellow). It is extremely hard for me to chose because they are both AMAZING. I love Puck's personality, but my heart beats for Ash!

Favorite Author

Hello Followers!

My question for everyone out there is, who is your favorite author? Though this is a YA blog, by all means post an author from another genre! I'd have to say my favorite author is Lisa Jane Smith, commonly know as L.J.Smith. She is the author of many popular books including The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle, Dark Visions, Night World Series, and The Forbidden Game.

Have a great day! :)

Author Face-Off

Everyone knows the two famous authors Stephenie Meyer and Suzanne Collins! (If you don't, you must live under a real heavy rock.) The real question is, which one do you prefer? They are both amazingly talented, but I'm compelled to pick Stephenie. Now, I loved Twilight before it became widely known or made into a movie, but I favor Stephenie because of her Sci-Fi novel The Host. It is a brilliant book unlike anything my mind has consumed before. If you haven't read this book, make sure to do so! You will not be disappointed.

100+ Reading Challenge

*This challenge is usually hosted over at J. Kaye's Book Blog, but I haven't heard anything from her about hosting it.

As of today, I have read and reviewed 278 books for 2010. I have many more to post before the finish date of December 31, 2010. I know that I will be able to finish this challenge next year, but I am challenging you to beat your 2010 record this year! Can you read over 100 books this year?

DETAILS:

1. The goal is to read 100 or more books. Anyone can join. You don't need a blog to participate. Posting on GoodReads or wherever you post your reviews is good enough.

2. Audio, Re-reads, eBooks, YA, Manga, Graphic Novels, Library books, Novellas, Young Reader, Nonfiction – as long as the book has an ISBN or equivalent or can be purchased as such, the book counts.
What doesn't count: Individual short stories or individual books in the Bible.

3. No need to list your books in advance. You may select books as you go. Even if you list them now, you can change the list if needed.

4. Crossovers from other reading challenges count.

5. Challenge begins January 1st thru December, 2011. Books started before the 1st do not count. You can join at anytime.

6. When you sign up under Mr. Linky, put the direct link to your post where your books will be listed. Include the URL to this post so that other viewers can find this fun challenge. If you’d prefer to put your list in the sidebar of your blog, please leave your viewers the link to the sign up page. Again, so viewers can join the challenge too.

Have any of you completed this challenge before? I'm excited!
