Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine that gives bloggers a chance to spotlight upcoming releases. This week, I decided to choose Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama. Why am I waiting on this? Because it's a mermaid book of course! Gosh I love mermaid books.... and I like the cover. It fits the title well.
Fierce, seductive mermaid Syrenka falls in love with Ezra, a young naturalist. When she abandons her life underwater for a chance at happiness on land, she is unaware that this decision comes with horrific and deadly consequences. Almost one hundred forty years later, seventeen-year-old Hester meets a mysterious stranger named Ezra and feels overwhelmingly, inexplicably drawn to him. For generations, love has resulted in death for the women in her family. Is it an undiagnosed genetic defect . . . or a curse? With Ezra’s help, Hester investigates her family’s strange, sad history. The answers she seeks are waiting in the graveyard, the crypt, and at the bottom of the ocean—but powerful forces will do anything to keep her from uncovering her connection to Syrenka and to the tragedy of so long ago.
Monstrous Beauty hits shelves on September 4th, 2012! What are you waiting on this week? And if you haven't entered my giveaway yet, please click here!

ReplyDeleteYou write great reviews! I am now following your blog. When you get the chance, you may be interested in entering the giveaways taking place at my blog. I'm offering copies of the enchanting novel The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey, and the coming of age story with a punk-rock twist, Banned for Life by D.R. Haney. I enjoyed reading both novels, and I think you would enjoy them to. Follow the link below to enter. I look forward to reading more reviews from you!
